Can I just have my husband back, please?
In efforts to send thank you notes to those who attended the services for my husband and/or mailed cards to my home, I went to purchase some thank you cards from Target. In the check out line, the cashier looks down and notices the enormous amount of thank you cards I have.
He says, "Wow. That is a lot of thank you cards. Did you just get married?!"
Suddenly, time stands still. I have nothing but a blank stare into the distance. I remind myself, "Breathe, LaSandra!" I take a really deep breath and reply, "Ahem. No...no. No, I didn't."
He responds, "Oh. Okay. I was going to tell you, 'Congratulations.'"
I nod. I respond with a thank you and put my head down. I exit Target as quickly as I can.
I wonder as I walk out, "Is this really happening?"
But, I made it. I made it.
"Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand.
You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.
Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.
My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
